Jane Elliott is an American diversity educator. She is famous for her "Blue eyes/Brown eyes" exercise she ran for her 3rd grade class the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. This painting is inspired by her experiment and asks the question, what if my eyes were blue?  Would the social injustice and discrimination experienced by black men be different? Probably not, but it does suggest the arbitrary nature of discrimination based on skin color.
